Fiberglass Blown-In Wall System

Insulation

Fiberglass Blown-In Wall System is next best upgrade to conventional fiberglass batt insulation. The product is injected into the wall to a manufacturer specified density in result achieving an R-24 value in a 2x6 wall cavity or an R-14 in a 2x4 cavity.

To have installed blown-in insulation, you require a licensed contractor. The process involves the application of fiber mesh over the stud wall cavity and then blown-in with fiberglass insulation is injected in the wall cavity. The blown fiberglass gets in and around all wires, plumbing, electrical outlets and other hard to insulate areas, by far a better overall product.

The product does not settle over time, nor will it absorb moisture, which in return will not lead to mold and mildew issues.

The blown fiberglass wall system is proven to perform 50% better than conventional fiberglass batt insulation. When installed by only certified installers you will have a true working R24 fiberglass in the wall with zero voids unlike poorly installed fiberglass batt insulation.

In most cases fiberglass batt insulation is either compressed or improperly fit into the wall cavity creating enormous amount of voids which results in poor R value and possible mould issues in your home. When using the blown-in wall insulation system you will have a true working insulation in a full wall cavity with zero voids.

Acoustical (Soundproofing)

Even with its great insulating R-value, the blow-in fiberglass can be injected into interior walls and floor joist systems to give superb acoustical properties. When injected to 2x4 interior wall construction, an STC of 50 is achieved giving peace and quiet to those areas of concerns.

When injected into floor joist cavities the product get around plumbing lines and vents as well as heating ducts giving you soundproofing and insulation helping eliminating heat/cooling loss issues before they reach there final destination.

Drill and Fill

Finished walls?
Older Victorian Style Home?
Does your home have insulation in the walls?
No problem we can fill your wall cavities by injecting blown fiberglass insulation. The process involves drilling 2” holes into drywall or wood, typically from the inside of the home, or rarely from the outside.

Older homes typically did not have insulation and relied on a double wall system with an air gap between. Also known as balloon framing the air gap acted as the insulator in that time. But today with high-energy costs injecting walls with insulation just makes more sense and adds more money to your pocket.

Barrie Insulation Systems services the Barrie and Simcoe County area.
